UV, bird droppings, tree sap and 60°C panel temperatures — summer is the hardest season on paint. The defense takes one afternoon:
Layer 1: Clean
Wash with proper mitts and microfiber (not the dish sponge). Decontaminate with clay if paint feels rough.
Layer 2: Protect
SiO2 ceramic spray — 15 minutes, 3 months of hydrophobic protection. Water beads off, sap wipes off, UV bounces off.
Layer 3: Maintain
Bird droppings: remove within hours (they etch). Quick-detail spray weekly. Re-coat ceramic quarterly.
Bonus
Interior: dash mat + sunshade stop the dash-cracking heat.
