Frequently asked questions
Does it fit my EV?
Yes — J1772 (North America) and Type 2 (Europe) variants cover every EV; Tesla adapters supported.
Can I use any outlet?
Adjustable-amperage models auto-adapt; always use a properly rated circuit — details in the manual.
Is it safe in rain?
IP66-rated components are weatherproof for outdoor charging.
🔬 Gearyx Tested — our hands-on take (written by the Gearyx team, not a customer review)
We charged an ID.4 from 18% to 80% overnight on a 3-phase CEE outlet — exactly as fast as a fixed wallbox costing 4x more. The app scheduling hit the cheap night tariff window reliably all week. The cable is stiff in cold weather; that's our only note.
Questions & answers — answered by the Gearyx team
Is it safe to use in rain?
Yes — IP66 rated; the connector and box are sealed for outdoor use. Don't submerge the plug, obviously. — Gearyx team
Do I need an electrician?
If you already have a suitable outlet (CEE/NEMA 14-50), no. If you need one installed, that's a standard 1-hour electrician job. — Gearyx team
